General Science
The Department was established along with the Institution in the year 2003. The Department includes Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry and Engineering Mathematics. The Department has well equipped Engineering Physics and Engineering Chemistry lab as per the VTU. The academic activities of the department are teaching and conducting workshops, seminars, guest lecturers from the resource full persons from other centers.
The Department imparts education in Basic Science both in theory and through experiments. The objective is to create the basic firm foundation required by the engineers to plan for appropriate applications of the materials, objects and the material science studied under the science education which in turn provides them the tool for the choice of the proper plan for the right application.
The Physics lab is located in C V Raman block of the college. The Chemistry and Mathematics are located in T A Narashima setty block. The Physics and chemistry lab are spread over an area of 200 Sq mtrs and 205 Sq mtrs respectively where nearly 25 students can perform experiments at a time.
The department has well-qualified and experienced faculty with a healthy student to staff ratio. Out of which two are Doctorates, three are pursuing Ph.D. and remaining are Post-Graduates. Faculty members have published research papers in international and national journals and conferences. They are also members of several important academic bodies.
The department is striving hard to make the unique spirit of SKSVMACET, an Institution with a difference by promoting excellence in Teaching, Research and Services covering the fundamentals as well as applied aspects of Computer Science and IT.

I am pleased to welcome you to Smt. Kamala Sri Venkappa.M M Agadi College of Engineering & Technology, Lakshmeshwar and Department of General Science
Thank you for selecting Engineering as career. I hope you enjoy reading about the exciting things that have been happening recently in the field of Engineering. The people across the world are able to connect in no time because of fast growth in this field. This field of engineering and technology has a major contribution to the society which we are enjoying and witnessing today. This importance makes career in Engineering to stay evergreen on top of all other professions. Students come to SKSVMACET, Lakshmeshwar with varied ambitions and dreams – preparing for their chosen career or for continuing their education; our goal is to ensure that the education we provide opens the doorway to greater opportunities.
The General Science Department is proud of the quality, Outcome Based Education (OBE)-based instruction and practical training imparted to its students to face the challenges of the fast changing corporate and technical world. Courtesy the dedicated faculty and excellent coaching in both theory and practical. All the Students of Engineering have to study General science subjects VIz., Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Physics and the Engineering Chemistry in the first year of their programme. With well-established laboratories, an excellent library facility within the college campus and in the department enhances the subject knowledge in physics, chemistry and mathematics.
We look forward to flourish the department by imparting the basic science education along with extracurricular activities. Nevertheless, the faculty members are being motivated frequently to upgrade their teaching methodology by implementing the appropriate Teaching-Learning methods.
Considering the above mentioned facts and figures we look forward to your joining the SKSVMACET family and to give us the opportunity to nurture your personality by providing the best education.
